United Way offers several flexible ways to contribute and create lasting change. Explore each option below to learn more about how you can make an impact. And then choose what’s best for you.

  • Your donation goes where it’s needed most and makes a real difference locally and globally.

  • Donating stock to United Way is win-win! You’ll help support our work in the community and get tax benefits. 

    Want to give? Ask your broker to transfer the stock directly to United Way or United Way Worldwide. We’ll give you everything your broker needs — the name of our brokerage, account info and contact details. Once your broker transfers the stock, it’s done! Just make sure the stock is transferred before it’s sold to avoid extra taxes.

    The step are simple:. All you need to provide is: 1.) your contact information, so we can acknowledge your gift; and 2.) the name of the stock and number of shares to be donated. Please reach out to give@unitedway.org, and we will follow up with our broker's contact information. 

  • Thinking about your will? You can now make or update it for free — and you can leave a lasting gift to United Way at the same time! We’ve teamed up with FreeWill to offer you an easy way to create your will at no cost. 

    Use this free tool to start writing your will today. Including United Way in your plans helps support education and financial stability as well as health and basic needs for years to come. 

    Whether or not you decide to include a gift to United Way, the tool is yours to use, free of charge.

  • If you’re involved in a legal settlement, consider directing a cy pres award to United Way Worldwide. These awards make a big difference in improving the lives of people in communities around the globe. 

    Thanks to these awards, United Way can fund programs that create healthy communities, support youth opportunities and make financial security possible for families around the world. Your support will provide emergency assistance when it’s needed most. It will help children access nutritious food. It will go toward advocating for better job opportunities and housing. And it will reduce homelessness and expand educational resources.

  • Planned giving is a powerful way to make a lasting impact and support United Way Worldwide for years to come. By including us in your will or donating unused retirement assets like your IRA or 401(k), you can leave a legacy while gaining potential tax benefits. Even royalty income you’ve earned from books or music can be gifted.
